Delhi govt asks Centre to reopen shops and malls on odd-even basis, allow public transport with strict social distancing norms
The Delhi government on Thursday submitted a proposal to the Centre on lockdown relaxations post 17 May and suggested opening of markets, shopping complexes and operation of buses and metro services with strict social distancing norms.
Out of the total cases in the state, Lucknow has reported over 220 cases of COVID-19.

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Khordha district has been put in the red zone. However, the rest of the areas in the district fall under the orange zone.
Ranchi is the only district in the Indian state of Jharkhand to be put in the red zone by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

The Bruhat Bengaluru MahanagaraPalike (BBMP) has categorised 22 wards under the red zone. The remaining 176 wards will fall under orange and green zones.
Out of the total cases, Chennai alone has over 1,400 cases of coronavirus. Tamil Nadu took 36 days to cross 1,000 cases, 16 days to get to 2,000 cases and five days to reach 3,000 cases. Chennai, the state’s capital, falls in the red zone.
As of 3 May, new areas in Salt Lake, Rajarhat and a neighbourhood close to the Kolkata airport too have been turned into containment zones in the city.

Hyderabad falls in red zone in Telangana along with five other districts of the state - Suryapet, Rangareddy, Medchal/ Malkajgiri, Vikarabad and Warangal. In view of the rising cases of COVID-19, the Narendra Modi government has extended the coronavirus lockdown till May 17. The second phase of the lockdown ended on May 3.
According to Pune zila parishad health department, over 1,390 cases were reported till 2 May - 1,321 cases in Pune city, 59 in Pimpri-Chinchwad, and 16 in Pune rural areas. The Centre has extended the lockdown till 17 May in a bid to contain the spread of the virus.
Mumbai is one of the cities that has reported a maximum number of coronavirus cases in the country. The financial capital of India has confirmed 8,800 cases of COVID-19 of which more than 7,200 are active cases.
The metropolises of Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru are among those cities which have been designated as red zones, based on the number of active coronavirus cases, the doubling rate and the level of testing and surveillance.
