E3 2011: Far Cry 3 Announced

Ubisoft heading back to the tropical island setting for Far Cry 3.

At their E3 press conference, Ubisoft unveiled Far Cry 3, which I personally thought was the best game I’ve seen in E3 so far. They’ve moved the game out of the confines of the harsh African desert into a tropical island setting once again. Doing so has allowed Ubisoft to go nuts with the game’s visuals that as expected look utterly sublime.

Not your ideal vacation

But it’s not all about visuals this time round. You are Jason Brody, a man trapped on a beautiful yet terribly dangerous island hunted by a mad man who’s hell bent on explaining his definition of “insanity” to you.

But why waste time describing the gameplay video when you can check it out for yourself. Far Cry 3 releases sometime in 2012 for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC.
