WhatsApp plans to use AI to deal with international scam calls after Indian IT Ministry calls them out

After getting called out by the Union Minister of IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar, WhatsApp has revealed that they will be using AI and ML to weed out international scam callers and soon hope to curtail incidents by at least half.

He indicated that one of the aspects being examined is also how these WhatsApp numbers are being identified and accessed in the first place, and whether databases or bots are being leveraged for this
