Lawn Bowls is divided into two ends with players competing one after another by rolling their balls. The players try to roll the ball as close as they can to the target. The player with the bowl closest to the target gets more points.

Teh sport has four formats in lawn bowling, singles, pairs, triples and fours. These formats have been named according to the number of players in each team. There are separate men’s and women’s medal events for each. In singles matches, the first to 21 points wins the tie.

In all the other formats, bowls are rolled down from 18 different ends and the team with most points after the completion of all rounds will win the match.
