. DC are one of the two teams (apart from Rajasthan Royals) to win both of their opening matches. On the other hand, SRH are the only side to have lost both. A top-heavy SRH has concerns in the middle order. Jonny Bairstow scored a fifty against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their first match but as soon as he got out their comfortable-looking chase wilted. Image: Sportzpics for IPL[/caption] Against Kolkata Knight Riders, Manish Pandey was the only batsman to get a score of notice as he scored 51 off 38 after openers got out. Wriddhiman Saha struggled to get going and SRH managed only 142/4 in a match they would end up losing by seven wickets. SRH would want to turn their campaign around against DC but for that their top order, Warner, Bairstow and Pandey, have to score big to cover up for the brittle middle order. DC come into the match riding high on confidence and would aim to continue their winning run. Prithvi Shaw came good for them against Chennai Super Kings with a half century while Marcus Stoinis showed against Kings XI Punjab that he can play the role of the finisher. Rishabh Pant and Iyer have also been good in the two outings so far. DC’s bowling department has impressed in particular. South African pacers Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje have been quick and accurate while spinners Axar Patel and Amit Mishra have been crafty and economical. SRH finally clinch the first win of the season and a special victory, against the table-toppers. They were better than DC in both batting and bowling departments and deserve the win. Warner and Bairstow read the pitch early and built a good partnership before Williamson provided that late flourish. In bowling, Rashid was exceptionally good as he took the big wickets and the death bowling from the pacers was some of the best in this edition so far. DC was good in bowling department, not so good in batting. Somebody had to bat for long and throughout and while few got starts, no one converted it.

Rashid: I think I don’t put pressure of performing in mind. I try to focus on things I can do. I decided it might take three balls to realise what is the right pace on this track. He (Warner) tells me you know better what to do. He gives me confidence. Something does not go right, you ask the captain. That’s what we discuss. I think tough one and half years for me. Lost my dad and then my mom. Has been tough to come back. Mom was biggest fan of IPL and she enjoyed it and used to talk to me after the match.

What an over by Natarajan. In the death, he gets his execution almost perfect. Yorker after yorker and low full tosses. And eventually the wicket of Stoinis. Brilliant yorker in the death by Natarajan. Stoinis wanted to flick it on leg but missed the ball and had to leave. He took a review to try his luck but to no avail.

Khaleel’s plan was to bowl short and wide or a yorker to Hetmyer. For a while it looked like it was working as only three came from first two balls including a wide but when Khaleel missed the mark, Hetmyer smoked the full toss over cow corner for a six. The short delivery outside off was then given the same treatment with a slice shot over sweeper cover. 16 from the over. 59 needed from here.

Big, big wicket for Rashid. Dhawan out for 34. On a pitch where batting is looking like an exercise, DC needed someone to do the hard work. They have a lot of stroke-makers but who is going to play that ugly innings. Dhawan was set and could have continued but got out trying an ugly heave. The googly took the faint edge to the keeper. S Ravi turned the appeal down but the review helped the umpire make the right decision. Shimron Hetmyer comes out to the middle. 100 needed in last eight overs.

Another big wicket for Rashid. Googly does the job this time as Dhawan went for the heave, and edged it to the keeper. It was a very faint edge that umpire S Ravi didn’t catch but the review saved the day for him.

Even the best can miss the mark, so after two dot balls when Rashid pitched it uppishly on leg, Dhawan was quick to grab the opportunity as he played the sweep shot excellently to the backward square leg fence. Six off the over.

Chip shot on the first ball by Dhawan off Sharma but it drops ahead of long off. Pant drives the next ball for a double. And two more singles are added on last two balls. It’s good bowling by Sharma. he is hitting length and trying to keep the ball on middle and off. Time for a strategic break.

Rashid Khan is the strike bowler and that’s what he does in his first over. Removes Iyer on the second delivery after beating his outside edge on the first. Bowling change. Left-arm spinner Abhishek Sharma into the attack. Eight runs off the over with a bye and wide. There could have been a wicket after Dhawan lost his composure and came out to attack, the flighted delivery was away from the batsman and he somehow managed an inside-edge for a single.
