Star Wars fans should mark their calendars and keep their light sabers ready. Lucasfilms has confirmed that the next movie in the hit series will be out on 18 December, 2015. This will be the seventh episode in the series.
Star Wars: Episode VII is currently in pre-production stage, according to the official Star Wars website.
Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by JJ Abrams (who’s directed Mission: Impossible III and Star Trek). The script has been written by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan (who also wrote the script for the Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi).
“It will not only anchor the popular holiday film-going season but also ensure our extraordinary filmmaking team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture,” Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn said in statement on the website.
Legendary composer John Williams will return to compose music for_Episode VII._ Shooting willbegin in the spring of 2014 for the film.
