Chinese smartphone maker Gionee is the latest company that is expected to make an appearance at the biggest annual smartphone event.

Mobile World Congress is a couple of weeks away and we are starting to get a number of leaks and tips about upcoming devices. Chinese smartphone maker Gionee is the latest company that is expected to make an appearance at the biggest annual smartphone event.

A report says that the company will announce a new A-series (not to be confused with Samsung) and will announce two smartphones, A1 and A1 Plus. Aparently Gionee has sent out media invites for the launch of mentioned smartphones which will happen on 27 February.

The Gionee A1 is expcted to come with a 5.5 inch full HD (1920x1080) display with a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass protection. Inside it will have a 1.8GHz octa-core processor which will be paired with 4GB of RAM. The internal storage will be 64GB with an option to expand it further using a microSD card of upto 128GB. Other features expected include a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies. Both the cameras are expected to come with their individual LED flash units. There will be a fingerprint scanner integrated with the home button as well as an IR blaster support. Running on Android 7.0 Nougat OS with Amigo OS 4.0, it will have a 4,010mAh battery, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and a micro USB port.

A couple of images of the handset have also been spotted online on a website while it is expected to go on sale in Nepal on 15 March with an expected price of 35,999 Nepalese Rupee, which is Rs 22,496 in India.
