Humble Origin Bundle makes $9.5 million

The Humble Origin Bundle has shattered the original Humble Bundle record for total payments. The bundle has earned a whopping $9.5 million, compared to the Humble Bundle 5’s $5.1 million. Currently, the bundle sits on 1.9 million purchases, with the highest payment being $10,000 by an anonymous purchaser. At the time of publishing, the bundle still has two more days to go.

Earlier, EA added Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Uprising and Populous to the bundle, which originally consisted of Battlefield 3, The Sims 3 Starter Pack, Dead Space, Dead Space 3, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Mirror’s Edge and Medal of Honor.

EA’s bundle has been a huge success

Notably, EA won’t be getting any of the cut from the sales of the bundle. All the money will be split between the Humble Bundle crew and some charities, including the Human Rights Campaign, Watsi, San Francisco AIDS foundation, American Cancer Society and the American Red Cross. As is usual for the bundle, the buyers decide how much of the money goes where.

While buyers will get the Origin codes for all of these games, for some of them, buyers will also get the Steam codes. The games with Steam codes include Dead Space, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Mirror’s Edge, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Uprising and Medal of Honor.

The original record-holder for sales was the Humble Bundle 5, which had some of the most loved and endearing indie games up grabs, including Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Limbo, Psychonauts, Bastion and Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
