PU Chitra finished a creditable fourth in women's 1500 metres race while Jinson Johnson ended seventh in men's 800 metres on the first day of the IAAF Continental Cup in Ostrava on Saturday.

Manjit Singh was behind two-three runners at the final bend but ran past Jinson and others in the final stretch to win the gold. Manjit ran a personal best of 1:46.15 while Jinson clocked 1:46.35.
