With just three days remaining before Punjab goes to polls, campaigning in the state has touched a crescendo with political parties not caring about etiquette and threatening violence against their rivals.
In an election rally in Gurdaspur, which was also attended by Congress President Sonia Gandhi, chief ministerial candidate and state party head Captain Amarinder Singh instigated the cadres to break the legs of Akali Dal members.
While Akali Dal condemned the use of such unparliamentary language, BJP’s Navjot Singh Sidhu asked party cadres to hit back in equal measure saying, “We are not wearing bangles”.
