The book, sub-titled 'Keeping the flame of Indian classical music alive', has profiles of several Gen Next musicians who are carrying forward the rich legacy and tradition of the art form alive.

The author, Harsh Meswani, is a musician himself. The composer has said that he was exposed to a range of music from his early days — not just classical music, but also rock and other genres.

Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma and superstar Amitabh Bachchan were among the special guests at the launch of The Torchbearers.

Sangita Jindal and Gauri Poohoomal were also seen at the launch.
