It’s been called everything from bizarre to something typically Japanese. But there’s something genuinely likeable about these photographs of Japanese fathers in mid-air with a varying range of expressions and dressed in their Sunday best with their daughters next to them looking as impassive as possible while viewing this.
The photos are an idea of Japanese photographer Yûki Aoyama and are part of his book that is reportedly translates as ‘Daughter and Salary Man’. A ‘Salary Man’ in Japan refers to professional employees in Japan who work in private companies. All the photos feature the men in various poses next to their daughters who are no older than teenagers.
Given the various internet trends that are created almost on a daily basis this one is perhaps one of the cuter ones. Hopefully we’ll have a lot more photos of fathers jumping for joy around their daughters.
