Nobody thinks much of people running down a skywalk during peak hours, hurrying to get to the station and catch their train as it is a common sight in Mumbai.
But an organisation called ‘Thank You India’ is seeing the bright side of walking on the pedestrian bridge and maintaining its cleanliness by congratulating commuters with flowers and and a thank you card.

The card saying, ‘Thank you for not littering. And for being a responsible Indian’ in Hindi and English, along with a red rose, was handed to hundreds of passersby on the skywalk near Santacruz station on Tuesday morning.
The purpose of the ‘good ticket,’ as the card is called, is to bring about ‘change through positive psychology’ and aims to encourage people to be more mindful of their surroundings.
However, as innovative as their idea is, it didn’t seem to connect with everybody. Ironically, several ‘good tickets’ were on found strewn over the length of the skywalk, in direct contradiction of the message.
The cards were thrown not more than 10 steps away from where the volunteers stood and made for an ugly sight. So much for the goal of a ‘Swachh Mumbai’!
Thank you India is an initiative that aims at ‘Daily tiny acts for a happy, healthy and united India.’
Their past activities activities include thanking people from various walks of life from distributing flowers to construction workers, policemen, public transport drivers and so on to placing good tickets on cars that have been parked on proper spaces.
