Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Sunday that he has called a high-level meeting in the city on Monday in the wake of the blast in front of a restaurant that killed one woman and injured three others. He added that the incident took place despite the police being on high alert.

Rushing to the blast site from Mysuru, Siddaramaiah said Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to him and offered central help in the investigation into the blast, triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device.

Asked about the terror angle, he said, “Let the investigation go on. Let us not come to any conclusion before that.” He evaded a reply when asked if there was any specific intelligence alert about the blast.

“Police were on high alert. In spite of this, it has happened,” he added.
