They play the top two sides in their last two fixtures and it could be tough. They are still not in a do or die situation but you never know what can happen in this unpredictable tournament. Mumbai, on the other hand, have become the first team to qualify for the playoffs, thanks to CSK’s win over KKR on Thursday. They would like to strengthen their position at the top of the table and their chances of ending in the top two. After the thumping loss to Rajasthan Royals, they would have gained a lot of confidence in the way they chased down 165 against RCB in their last match. Suryakumar Yadav was the man of the moment and with the form he is in, he will again be a big threat for the DC bowlers. There is still uncertainty about Rohit Sharma’s participation and in his absence, Kieron Pollard will continue to lead the side. Pollard has impressed with his leadership. The MI bowlers bowled well in the middle overs and the death against RCB, they would look to improve on their powerplay bowling. Trent Boult has gone for runs in the last couple of matches and would look to get back to his best as soon as possible. When these two teams met earlier in the tournament, Mumbai beat DC easily by five wickets with Quinton de Kock and Yadav scoring half-centuries to chase down 163. Mumbai Indians would look for consistency and momentum ahead of the playoffs. We can expect a cracker. Mumbai are upping the ante now. They want to finish this off quickly. Kishan paddles one to fine leg for a couple, then smashes the next one down the ground for a four. He took a single and then Suryakumar drover one through extra cover for a couple. A single off the last ball made it 10 runs off the over. MI need 16 off 42 balls.

A successful over for DC. But they need two or three wickets more in a short space to time here. Nortje makes De Kock drag one on in that over. But Suryakumar Yadav ends the over with a four to make it 6 runs and a wicket off the over.

Mumbai Indians are pacing the innings nicely here. De Kock and Kishan take four singles off the first four balls and then Kishan hits a couple of powerful slog sweeps for back to back fours to make it 12 runs off the over.

A decent over for MI. They are playing very intelligent cricket. Harshal didn’t get his lines right to start off and conceded a four off the first ball and then sprayed another down the leg side for a wide. He then corrected his lengths and bowled them on the off side to give away just three singles off the next five balls. 8 runs off the over.

An eventful over. Kishan looks to get down the track first ball but Dubey cleverly slips in the googly and beats Kishan’s outside edge. Pant whips off the bails, but Kishan does well to get his back foot back inside the crease. He is then given out LBW but the decision is overturned on the review. De Kock then reverse sweeps one for four before cutting one behind point for a couple. 7 runs off the over.

A decent over from Ashwin. He tried to vary his pace and even bowled a slinging Kedar Jadhav-esque type side-arm delivery in that over. He was disciplined with his lines and lengths. 3 runs off the over.
