So the first teaser wasn’t that confidence inspiring. But if the new trailer is anything to go by, you can shelve every doubt you may have had about the upcoming James Bond film Spectre.

Daniel Craig, in his latest outing as the legendary spy, finally gets everything you associate with James Bond. There’s the Aston Martin with an ’escape’ mode that makes it emulate the Batmobile, he has ‘Q’ assisting him and there’s no shortage of women around him (a minimum of three if the trailer’s anything to go by).

Like in Skyfall, Bond is running afoul of MI6 as he continues to hunt the mysterious organisation called Spectre, and like in the previous film, he decides to vanish to hunt down his foes. But unlike Skyfall there’s everything that the previous instalment was missing in terms of pulse pounding action associated with the franchise. There are high speed car chases, a small plane that Bond lands by clipping off the wings, gunbattles and a helicopter that does a barrel roll.

This time the spy’s also got twice as many villains to deal with. There’s Christoph Waltz as Franz Oberhauser, who in the trailer claims to be the author of “all the pain” in Bond’s life. And for the first time in the Bond series since Craig came on board, the villain has a henchman who provides the muscle. In this case it’s former wrestler Dave Bautista, who breaks doors and heads to prove his worth.

The mysterious Mr White from Spectre, a character who featured in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, also returns. And yes, Andrew Scott of Moriarty from Sherlock fame is also there, but is still restricted to one frame in the trailer.

There’s Stephanie Sigman, Monica Bellucci and Léa Seydoux in the film as well but from this trailer it’s not very clear what their role is apart from the fact that Bond has to do quite a bit to save them.

With director Sam Mendes declaring that this is definitely his last Bond movie, and Craig also hinting at the same , this trailer hints that the film’s all about bringing down the curtains on this version of Bond in the grandest possible way. We can’t wait.
