Koffee with Karan 6: SS Rajamouli, Prabhas, Rana Daggubati discuss success of Baahubali, their personal lives

The tenth episode of Koffee with Karan season 6 featured the  Baahubali  trio — actors  Prabhas and Rana Daggubati  and director SS Rajamouli. Despite the media attention on the actors, the film franchise’s actors have managed to remain a mystery to most fans and followers. However, the latest episode included a fun round of rapid fire and the trio opening up in ways that would give the most ardent fans a pleasant surprise.

The show began with host Karan Johar reassuring the guests that he would go easy on them, especially Prabhas, who was making his first appearance on a television show. Rajamouli revealed that the actor was shy and introverted. He added that Prabhas was very lazy, which was getting in the way of him getting married.

“It would be too much work for him to find a girl and talk to her parents. That’s why he isn’t getting married,” the director joked.

He also added that Prabhas had a mischievous side to him even though he was an introvert, but Daggubati was the one likely to get caught for any prank.

Johar brought up the mammoth success of Baahubali: The Beginning and asked the trio what it was like when the film finally hit the theatres. Prabhas revealed that he was in Delhi when it happened. He had initially promised Rajamouli and Daggubatti that he would be with them during the time of release to be each other’s “emotional support”, but backed out at the last minute. Rajamouli said that while the film received positive reactions from the audience in North India and Tamil Nadu, it took some time for the Telugu viewers to warm up to the film.

Johar also touched upon the personal lives of the actors, which is always a subject of intrigue. Both actors said that they were single and had no plans to tie the knot. “Single is the best way to be,” said Dagubatti. The host also addressed Prabhas-Anushka Shetty rumours, which were denied by the actor. Dagubatti also said that he was “just friends” with with Trisha as things did not work out between them.

As far as the rapid fire round was concerned, Rajamouli took away the coveted hamper.

Prabhas will be next seen in Saaho , also starring Shraddha Kapoor in her Telugu film debut, while Daggubati will portray Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the highly-anticipated  NTR biopic .
