Boney Kapoor sends legal notice to makers of Sridevi Bungalow, starring Priya Prakash Varrier

Priya Prakash Varrier, who shot to fame following her ‘wink song’ ‘Manikya Malaraya Poovi…’ from the film Oru Addar Love, is once again in the news for her upcoming film Sridevi Bungalow. The trailer of the Prasanth Mambully directorial was released recently and has  received criticism for its insensitive portrayal of late actress Sridevi.

Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor has sent a legal notice to the makers of the film. The director confirmed the same with a media portal, reports India Today , “We received a legal notice from Mr Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. I want to My film is a suspense thriller. I told him (Boney Kapoor) that Sridevi is a common name. My film’s character also happens to be an actress. We will face it (the legal case).” (sic)

The trailer shows Priya as a glamorous and successful actress, but she seems to be living a very lonely life. The clip ends with her death in a bathtub reminiscent to the way Sridevi died last year.

Priya has also refused to comment whether the film is based on Sridevi or not. When her father Prakash was contacted by the media portal, he said the matter was for the film’s director and producer to address.
