Sridevi's Mom debuts its motion poster: Highlights the different, complex avatars of a mother

Days after she shared the first look on Twitter, the motion poster for Sridevi’s upcoming film Mom, has been released on YouTube.

The first look established that Sridevi’s character — the titular mother of the film — would be a gritty one. It showed her in profile, looking bruised yet fierce. The actress teased it with this tag-line on Twitter : “When a woman is challenged…”

The motion poster builds on that premise. Against a dark backdrop, we see the different names by which we call our mothers — ma, aai, amma, and finally, mom — the words form against the backdrop and finally materialise against Sridevi’s profile, as seen in the firs look.

Alongside, we have a voice over by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, which emphasis the complex nature of a mother — nurturer and defender, gentle and fierce — and how she presents different avatars to different people.

Directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Boney Kapoor, Mom is expected to release this July.

It also stars Aksaye Khanna in addition to Sridevi and Nawaz.
