Flipkart.com Deploys Juniper Network Solutions

Juniper Networks, has announced that Flipkart.com, one of India’s e-commerce platforms, has built its next-generation datacentre running on the Juniper Networks Junos operating system. The deployment of Juniper Networks EX Series Ethernet Switches and SRX Series Services Gateways enables Flipkart.com to scale better, and ensure secure and seamless access to its platform.

Flipkart.com is experiencing continuous growth as online shopping increases in popularity. Its innovative business approach includes the introduction of the first sustainable Cash on Delivery option for the e-commerce space in India. The platform gets over 6 million page views per day and aims to be a US$1 billion business by 2015.

Juniper Networks EX4200 and EX4500 Ethernet Switches with Virtual Chassis technology and SRX3600 Services Gateways offer Flipkart.com a next-generation, low-latency, standards-based, highly secure and scalable datacentre network infrastructure to cater to the growing demands of its business.

With Junos software orchestrating network operations across all datacentre switching and security devices, Flipkart.com benefits from streamlined network administration processes that greatly simplify network management and reduce operational costs.

Juniper Networks Virtual Chassis technology—which connects the EX4500 switches in Flipkart’s 10 Gbps datacentre network core, as well as the top-of-rack EX4200 switches—enables groups of up to 10 interconnected switches to be managed as a single logical device. This not only simplifies administration but gives its datacentre carrier-class availability, low-latency performance and horizontal scalability.
