Now that Toyota is finally bringing in its Lexus brand to India in March this year, it’s high time we saw some new models from what is a trusted brand in the Indian auto market. According to Autocar India, Toyota is pondering over whether it should bring the aggressive-looking crossover to India or not. The five-door crossover that looks more like a concept with its radical design and aggressive stance, is expected to take on the Hyundai Creta or Tucson (or their respective facelifts) when (or if) it launches in India in mid-2018.

The Toyota C-HR crossover is built on Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA). The front is mostly closed and pretty aerodynamic with just a large air dam open at the bottom. Unlike most crossovers we have in the market today, the C-HR also goes aggressive on the sides with a very noticeable curve and a sloping roofline and an oddly placed door with what appears to be a ridiculously placed door handle.

The same aggressive design makes it way into the interiors as well with an angular sloping dashboard with a large infotainment screen taking center stage.

For now India-specific details regarding the expected powertrain have not been revealed yet, but the same report suggests that we may get the same turbo petrol engine from the international model in India along with similar diesel options.
