If you were preparing a meal for the Prime Minister of your country and the CEOs of the top 50 businesses in the United States of America , what would you cook? Especially if the networth of the total table is over $4 trillion dollars. That’s exactly the dilemma faced by star chef Vikas Khanna.
Modi, who was hosting a meal for CEOs of Fortune 500 companies at the Waldorf Astoria in New York on Thursday night, chose the Amritsar born chef to prepare the delicious seven course meal covering over 30 festivals and showcase ‘rich, beautiful India’ in a new age and fine dining avatar.
While Khanna remained unavailable for the comment, his representative Deepika Bansal said he’s “proud and humble to get the opportunity”.
The food that Khanna prepared for Modi and the delegates included poha, khandvi, modak, thandai, dates, non-alcoholic drinks and desserts, but in a fine dining format. The dinner meeting, which was held at the New York’s Waldorf Astoria, a luxury five-star hotel saw global faces like Lockheed Martin chairman Marillyn A. Hewson, Ford Motor president Mark Fields, PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, Johnson & Johnson chairman Jorge Mesquita among many.
The Chef also tweeted some pictures from the night:
