Google announced updates for the most prominent Google Assistant-powered device, Google Home in the keynote address on the first day of Google I/O 2017. The company will launch Google Home in Canada, Australia, France, Germany and Japan.
Coming to new features, Google announced the introduction of ‘Proactive Assistance’ where Google Home will look at your calendar, schedule, weather, and other relevant information to prompt you about useful information that my help you without any effort on your part. The company has also announced ‘Hands-Free Calling’ for Google Home in United States.
The service will use private number to make the calls but the users have the option to connect their mobile number with Google Home for calling. The company announced support for Spotify, SoundCloud and Deezer in addition to the existing services such as YouTube Music, Google Play Music, Pandora, tunein and others that Google Home supports.
The company announced the launch of Bluetooth support for Google Home devices which will allow users to play their music and audio files from any Android or iOS device.
Google also announced support to HBO Now, Hulu, YouTube TV, Google Play Movies & TV, CBS, The CW and others. This means that users can use Google Home to start playing the content available on these services directly on their televisions.
