The Telangana election exit poll results are in and the state that saw one of the most vitriolic poll campaigns appears set for another five years of Telangana Rashtra Samithi rule.
According to the Times Now-CNX survey, K Chandrashekar Rao’s party will pick up 66 seats, the Congress-TDP-CPI Mahakutami will get 37, the BJP will win seven and the remaining nine seats will be distributed among others. The India Today-Axis survey claims TRS is likely to win 79 to 91 seats in Telangana, while the Congress-led Mahakutami alliance will win 21 to 33 seats in India’s youngest state. Elsewhere, _Republic-_Jan ki Baat gives the TRS 50 to 65 seats, the Mahakutami 38 to 52, the BJP four to seven seats and others eight to 14 seats.
Republic-CVoter, on the other hand, predicts 48 to 60 seats for the TRS, 47 to 59 seats for the Grand Alliance, five seats for the BJP and between one and 13 seats for other parties.

This election is part of five Assembly polls across the country that form the final election season ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Whether or not these polls will have any impact on the mandate of May next year still remains to be seen. The results of all five elections will be out on 11 December.
