Modi not only communal but also corrupt: Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal, Team Anna member who is into his sixth day of fast, in an exclusive interview to IBN7, speaks about Modi and what lies ahead for the movement.

Q: How is your health?

A: I am fine.

Q: How did you feel yesterday looking at massive ground that came to support the movement?

A: Media kept on commenting that there is no response the movement as there was no crowd, but now there are people as well. Anyway you don’t need crowd to carry on a movement, people are already awakened. And even when we sat for our fast unto death we never thought about the crowds.

Q: Baba Ramdev has been closely associated with the movement. Yesterday he was seen sharing a stage with Narendra Modi, were he even praised Modi. Many of the members of the movement are critical of Baba Ramdev on this. What do you have to say on this?

A: Narendra Modi has not been just accused of communal riots, there has been lot of corruption in Gujarat. Purshottam Solanki and other ministers from Modi’s cabinet have serious corruption allegations against them. Modi is not giving permission to prosecute these ministers. High court has ordered Modi to give permission in 3 months, but still Modi did not. It seems that Modi is playing a prominent role in protecting the corrupt ministers. So its not appropriate to associate with such a figure.

Q: Your critics have been spreading the news that for heavy diabetic person like you, its impossible to fast for 5 days.

A: Yesterday I came to know that some people in media and political circles are saying that Arvind might be eating something behind the stage. Doctors warned me before the fast. They said that there might be permanent damage in my body if sit for the fast. Now the same doctors are surprised to see how I have survived for 5 days.

What people don’t understand is that there are crores of people who are praying for us. Even God is on our side.Today is the sixth day and feeling fit and fine. I can continue the fast for the next 20-30 days.

Q: You don’t mind if they come and check whether you are really eating or not?

A: Of course. If any one feels that I am eating behind the stage can send a representative to keep an eye on me.
