Apart from Banglore, students came out to the streets in Delhi, Hyderabad and Pune on Sunday demanding justice for the 19 year old student. The fight for justice is also gaining momentum on Facebook , with more than 1 lakh people express support and solidarity for Richard’s family.

“The crowd here is not just about Richard but it the translation of the accumulation of all anger and discrimination North-eastern students have been facing all the time”, said Professor Johnson during the Banglore rally.

Banglore rural police say that they are waiting for the forensic report which will give directions to their investigations.

DNA also reports that what irked the protesters most was the manner in which Loitam’s death was handled . “First, nobody took him to the hospital. And after his brutal death, they made up stories that he was a drug abuser,” Keisham Nongpok, an employee at TCS told DNA.
