Senior BJP leader and MP Yashwant Sinha today offered to resign from his Lok Sabha seat in protest against the BJP’s failure to take a strong stand on the Lokpal issue, said party sources.
Sinha took a shot at his party this morning in a meeting with his MPs. He criticised the party’s top brass for not doing enough to tackle corruption. He added that the BJP has lost to Team Anna and is even willing to resign from his seat to take a stronger stand on corruption.
" We should have taken up the issue of corruption more aggressively. We are not able to convince people on our stand on corruption despite the fact we had taken up the issue earlier. If required I am even willing to resign from my post and take up the issue, " said Sinha.
