In our top story, Italian Junior foreign minister Staffan de Mistura who flew into Delhi for a meeting with minister of state for external affairs Preneet Kaur, has expressed “terrible sadness” over the killing of two Indian fishermen but insisted they were shot dead in international waters. The public spat between Indian skipper MS Dhoni and Virender Sehwag took a new turn as reports on Tuesday confirmed that they stood divided over the team selection ahead of the Sri Lanka match of the tri-series. The latest on the alleged assault on a South African businessman by Saif Ali Khan and his entourage is that the actor and his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor are expected shortly at the Colaba Police station after a meeting with their lawyers. Kingfisher has stuck to the 24-hour deadline given to it by the DGCA and provided it with a revised one where they will be operating 28 of their 64 aircrafts. This may rule out any immediate punitive action for Kingfisher and avert further difficulties to air travelers.
