Ittefaq: Shah Rukh Khan unveils gripping first look of Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha's thriller

It was earlier reported that Abhay Chopra’s thriller, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha, might release in the second week of November this year. Co-producer Shah Rukh Khan kicked off the promotions on Twitter when he pushed out the first look of the film which is a remake of late BR Chopra’s 1969 film Ittefaq.

The first look hinted that the film is no longer named Ittefaq. Its new title is ‘It Happened One Night’, which is rather cheesy and vague. But later, co-producer Karan Johar tweeted two new posters of the film and revealed, in a rather interesting way, that the film is titled Ittefaq and ‘It Happened One Night’ is merely the tag line of the film.

The first look shows Malhotra wearing a pained expression as his closed eyes stare at the handcuffs that he holds up in front of the camera. The setting is dark and has a shade of red which lends an intense appeal to the picture.

One of the two new posters, tweeted by Johar, also depict Sinha peeping from behind what looks like a wooden bed, and holding a torch as her eyes scream shock. Johar also unveiled the first look of Akshaye Khanna in the film who probably plays a detective, as hinted at by the caption of Johar’s tweet. Khanna looks all business, sporting a thin moustache as the signature red light falls on his stern face.

DNA reports that Khan has rubbished rumours of him having a special song in the film. The report quotes him as saying, “Not at all. I don’t have any song in the Ittefaq remake. If I start having songs in every film I produce, I’ll only be doing songs then. We are planning to produce nine films in the next two years. So, then I would have to do nine to 10 songs. So no, there’s no song like that.”

It Happened One Night also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Akshaye Khanna and Rajkummar Rao. It is co-produced by Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. It is slated to release on 3 November.
