It’s here and it’s spectacular.

The ‘Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice’ full trailer, in all of its three and a half minute glory, was revealed at the Comic-Con – to a standing ovation no less – on Saturday showing off the first big screen meeting of The Dark Knight and Man of Steel.

Ben Affleck stars as new rugged looking Batman; Henry Cavill reprises his role as Superman with awkward sideburns; Gal Gadot, the Fast and Furious fame, stars as the Wonder Women; Amy Adams as Lois Lane; Jason Momoa, the Game of Thrones fame, as Aquaman; Ezra Miller as the Flash and Jeremy Irons as a very buff looking Alfred.

But, perhaps the most unconventional of all casting is Jesse Eisenberg as Superman’s arch enemy, Lex Luthor.

The film is directed by Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen and of course, Man of Steel).

The action packed trailer also hints (at 2:00) a return of our favorite villain, the Joker. Jared Leto is set to reprise the role in the upcoming DC’s Suicide Squad and a mashup is bound to happen sooner or later. In fact, Batman was spotted on the set of Suicide Squad last month.

Another familiar face in the trailer is that of Michael Shannon (see 1:58), who played General Zod in the 2013 Man of Steel. It will be interesting to see how he is weaved into the story line.

The official synopsis reads:

Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

The movie will be out on 25 March 2016.
