Realme has been expanding its portfolio thick and fast since starting out in May 2018 and the company may launch its first smartphone of 2019 very soon.
In an interview with The Indian Express, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth stated hat the Realme 3 would be announced in the first quarter of the year. Sheth didn’t dive into any specifics of the Realme 3 but reportedly told the publication that it “didn’t see any value” in punch-hole cameras or triple-camera smartphones.
The CEO did, however, confirm that Realme will be launching a smartphone with a 48 MP camera in 2019. This means Realme will be joining the likes of Huawei and Xiaomi in offering a 48 MP shooter. It’s unclear whether this would be a Realme 3 variant (e.g. a Pro model) or an entirely new entry.
The company previously launched the Realme U1 late last year, featuring a 25 MP front camera. So there is a chance of a camera-focused device that isn’t part of the main Realme series.
Realme currently has the Realme U1, Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro , and Realme C1 in its family. However, a recent report claimed that the company is set to expand its existing lineup by launching the Realme A1 . The new model is speculated to be closer to the Rs 10,000 mark and positioned below the Realme U1.
