The D7200 has been succeeded by the D7500. Nikon has got a new upgrade for the mid-range DSLR range and the specifications sound very promising.
Nikon has priced the D7500 at $1,250 (Rs 81,000 approx) for the body and there is a $1,750 (Rs 1,14,000 approx) kit which includes an 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX Nikkor lens. The company hasn’t confirmed as to when the new DSLR will hit the markets.
Sharing a bunch of features from the more high-end D500, the new D7500 features the same 20.9 MP APS-C sensor without an anti-aliasing filter. This is paired to Nikon’s Expeed 5 image processor. It can shoot 4K videos at up to 30 fps while the speeds for taking stills is now at 8 fps.
The DSLR also gets Bluetooth and Wi-Fi file-connectivity for data transfer and synchronisation. There is no NFC though, which was seen on the D500. It offers an ISO range of 100-51,600 with an added low setting of 50.
The Nikon D7500 gets a tilting 3.2-inch touch display, something that has been missing from this range.
The body and finish seems to be similar to the D7200’s, but is about 35 g lighter in weight. Considering the D7200 had a robust build, we can expect the D7500 to easily take a few knocks without any issues.
