Asus announced an updated for it’s VivoBook series at Computex this year. This was the second range apart from the new ZenBook that launched at the company’s ‘Zenvolution’ event. The VivoBook range is a more mainstream offering and the design language used in this series is not as sleek as the one used by the company in the ZenBook series. The company announced two laptops as part of the series, VivoBook Pro 15 and the VivoBook S15 . The company did not announce the prices and the availability of the laptops but it did announce the specs of both the devices.
Asus VivoBook S15
VivoBook S15 is packed with Intel Core i7-7500U processor along with 16 GB DDR4 RAM and Nvidia GeForce 940MX graphics card. The device packs a 2 TB mechanical hard drive along with a 512 GB SSD for faster storage access. It also comes with a USB 3.1, Type-C port, HDMI port, USB 3.1 port, two USB 2.0 ports and an SD card reader slot.
Asus has also added a backlit keyboard for low-light situations along with an integrated fingerprint sensor to access your device using Windows Hello. The company claims that the laptop can maintain the below 35-degree temperature even after hours of use with the help of ‘IceCool’ technology that uses smart fan control, heat pipes and internal layout for an efficient cooling system.
It comes with fast-charging technology where the battery can be charged from 0 to 60 percent within 49 minutes. The VivoBook S15 is considered the most premium model in the series and Asus claims that it is the it is one of the slimest 15.6-inch notebooks offering just a 17.9mm profile with just 1.5 kg weight. It also sports a ‘NanoEdge’ display with a 7.8mm bezel providing a larger display size in the same size to an immersive experience.
Asus VivoBook Pro 15
Asus VivoBook Pro 15 is the second laptop added to the VivoBook series by the company. The laptop packs similar specs to the one in VivoBook S15 with the 7th-generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ quad-core processor along with 16 GB DDR4 RAM. Asus has added the latest Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card, the same 2 TB mechanical drive and 512 GB SSD for improved system performance.
VivoBook Pro 15 weighs about 2.2 kg with 19.2mm thickness, a fingerprint sensor and backlit keyboard. The interesting part about this device is that Asus has added a 4K UHD display with 100 percent sRGB colour gamut along with Harman Kardon-certified audio speakers. Asus has added fast charging in the battery to give similar performance as the VivoBook S15.
Last but not the least, The laptop comes with SD card reader, Audio combo jack, two USB 2.0 ports, one DC-jack, one LAN RJ-45 jack, USB 3.1 port, HDMI 1.4 and a USB 3.1 Type-C port for connectivity.
