Intel Corporation has confirmed at the ongoing CES 2014 in Las Vegas, that it will work on dual-boot computers that run both the Windows and Android OS.Intel’s CEO Brian Krzanich stated that Intel is the first microprocessor company to support devices that combine the best of Windows and Android operating systems in a single device.
According to a report in The Verge Intel demonstrated the technology on a laptop during the company’s press conference. These computers which would be supported by Intel processors would users to switch between the different operating systems with the press of a button.
Previously we have seen dual-boot devices like Asus Transformer AiO P1801 which have dual-boot option but the devices can function either as a Windows 8 PC or an Android tablet. However with Intel we are likely to see Personal Computers that have both Android and Windows 8 running on them.
How efficient will the Android-Windows 8 marriage be on Intel-powered computers? That remains to be seen.
