Earlier in December we saw a dual-camera equipped Asus smartphone clearing the Tenaa certification. Just past this weekend, a new Asus smartphone was seen on the Chinese certification website having similar design cues.

Bearing the model number X00GD, the smartphone is listed to feature a 5.2-inch HD display, an octa-core 1.5GHz processor, 2GB/ 3GB/ 4GB RAM options, 16GB/ 32GB/ 64GB storage option, a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It will come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and will feature a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button. The USP of the smartphone will probably be its large battery which is said to be rated at 4,850mAh.

According to the information the handset will be available in three colour options; Luxury Gold, Rose Gold and Black.

The smartphone could be one of the new smartphones from the ZenFone 4 series, particularly the ZenFone 4 Max as it has a large capacity battery. The ZenFone 3 series was quite late last year and didn’t quite impress consumers this year due to its high pricing.

The company also recently announced the new ZenWatch 3 for the Indian market which is the latest offering in the Smartwatch category. Available exclusively on Flipkart, it is priced it at Rs 17,599 for the rubber strap variant and Rs 18,999 for the leather strap variant.
