Airtel set to roll out two new plans to take on Jio Prime, match data in terms of value

Airtel India is set to roll out two new plans to counter Reliance Jio and Jio Prime Membership offers. According to a report by The Economic Times , the company will launch two new offers to match the benefits offered by Jio. Both the plans will be bundled plans with the first on for Rs 145 where the users will get 14GB of 3G/4G data along with unlimited video calls from Airtel to Airtel.

The second plan will be worth Rs 349 where the data benefit will be same with 14GB but this offer will give users unlimited calling to any network not limited Airtel. One thing to note is that Airtel will cap the daily data usage to 0.5GB per day in both these offers. According to the report, the company is following the statement by Sunil Mittal pointing that they have no option but to match Reliance Jio’s offerings.

One thing to note is that we could not find the offers on Airtel Website or the ‘My Airtel’ app at the time of writing. This could mean that both these offers will roll out soon for the users to counter and retain customers from switching away from Airtel.

Reliance Jio has started the rollout of Jio Prime Membership from today where users will get exclusive offers crafted for Prime members. This comes in addition to the Rs 303 offer that gives them the same benefits that they enjoyed in the ‘Happy New Year’ offer.

Disclaimer: Reliance Jio is owned by Reliance Industries, who also own Network18, the publisher of Firstpost and tech2.
