Mobile network operator Airtel has announced that it will be extending its ‘Surprise Offer’ which was announced last month during the festive occasion of Holi.
Airtel was offering 30 GB of 4G data – 10 GB per month for three months – without any additional cost. This offers was announced on 13 March where users had to simply open the MyAirtel app and hit the ‘Surprise Offer’ banner. Clicking on that activated the offer for postpaid users.
The company has sent an official communications saying that it will be extending the validity of the extra data users activated on Airtel surprises by another 30 days. This means users get the extra data for one more billing cycle.
“We want your holidays to be even better. So we are extending the validity of the extra data you had activated on Airtel surprises by another 30 days. Now you get to use the extra data for one more billing cycle. Go on, create and share more memories with your loved ones all summer long!” said Gopal Vittal, CEO, Bharti Airtel Ltd.
Airtel is also offering a special scheme to protect customers who travel abroad from bill shocks. Airtel says that it has negotiated with global operators to offer the best international roaming rates. In case a customer forgets to activate an international roaming pack, Airtel will automatically activate the pack of the region once the user reaches the usage cost equal to the daily pack. For instance, if a customer is travelling to Singapore and hasn’t activated any pack. For this destination, the daily pack costs Rs 499 and includes unlimited incoming calls, free data, SMS and calls to India. If his/her daily usage exceeds Rs 499, the daily pack worth Rs 499 will be activated at no added cost. If the usage charges are less than Rs 499, users will only be charged based on the rates that are applicable.
