Bethesda’s press conference at E3 2016 revealed Prey , a reboot of the original game starring a new protagonist and storyline. It’s also been dubbed a psychological first-person shooter. Check out the cinematic trailer here.

Prey has had a rocky development cycle from the very start. The original game set itself apart from the rest by offering some unique, and at times mind-bending, gameplay scenarios. A sequel to the game was announced in 2011, but nothing came of it. In 2014 it was announced that the sequel was shelved.

This time around, Arkane Studios of Dishonored fame is working on the game. The plot, as far as we can tell, involved you, Martin Yu, who’s signed up for experiments designed to improve the human race. You wake up on a space station called the Talos 1. The year is 2032 and a mysterious alien force has taken over the station. You must do what it takes to take back control. To that end you will have a bunch of futuristic weapons and your “mind-bending abilities.”

Nothing else is really known so we’ll have to satisfy ourselves with that 2 minute teaser for now.

There is no confirmed release date for the game, but it should be arriving in 2017.
