CPM to hold meeting with Bengal’s Congress leadership to discuss joint movement for 25 Nov bypolls in state

According to sources in Left Front, it was decided that a meeting would be held with Congress leadership where several aspects of joint movement, a common minimum programme and modalities of joint announcement of candidates for 25 November bypolls will be held

Raiganj Lok Sabha polls:

Congress leader Deepa Dasmunshi won the Raiganj seat on a Congress ticket in 2009 Lok Sabha polls. In 2014, Mohammad Saleem of the CPM won the seat, defeating Dasmunshi by a narrow margin of 1,600 votes.
