•The family members of Tabrez Ansari who was allegedly lynched by a mob earlier this month, claimed that the reports of his father Maskoor Alam's death 15-years-ago due to mob lynching are false. They said that Tabrez's father was murdered over a dispute with friends. Tabrez Ansari was attacked by a mob in Kharsawan district of Jharkhand on the suspicion of theft on 18 June and succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital on 22 June.

•Eleven people were arrested on Monday in connection with the death of a 24-year-old man, who was thrashed by a mob here for alleged theft and is seen in a purported video being forced to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Jai Hanuman', police said. A special investigation team has been set up to look into the death of Tabrez Ansari. Two police personnel were suspended in connection with the incident.
