Pravin Tambe became the ninth hat-trick taker in the IPL after dismissing Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan and R ten Doeschate in the 16th over during Rajasthan Royals’ brilliant win over Kolkata Knight Riders today.

KKR were cruising at 121-0 before Rajasthan skipper Shane Watson took three wickets in the 15th over to dent their confidence. Tambe took full advantage of the under-pressure batsmen and sent back Pandey first — a stumping off a wide delivery before catching Yusuf out himself. The final wicket was of Doeschate who was trapped LBW.

Here’s a list of hat-tricks in previous IPL editions:

2008

- Laxmipathy Balaji dismissed Irfan Pathan, Piyush Chawla and VRV Singh on the 3rd, 4th and 5th delivery of the final over of CSK vs Kings XI. CSK won the match by 18 Run and man-of-the-match Balaji finished with 5/24.

BCCI

- Amit Mishra: Now a household name, Amit Mishra shot to IPL fame after removing Dwaraka Ravi Teja, Pragyan Ojha and RP Singh in the first three balls of the final over of a Delhi vs Deccan Chargers. Mishra could have had a fourth wicket but Dinesh Karthik missed a clear stumping.

- Makhaya Ntini: The South African first got rid of Sourav Ganguly on the last ball of the fifth over before dismissing Debabrata Das and David Hussey in the first two balls of his next over (it was the 17th over of the match, which meant Ntini had to wait for 12 overs to finish his hat-trick). Ntini was playing for CSK against KKR.

2009

- Yuvraj Singh: The then Kings XI player got two hat-tricks in 2009 and both of them came against Deccan Chargers (in Durban & Johannesburg). The first time he got the wickets of  Robin Uthappa, Jacques Kallis and Mark Boucher (he took the first two wickets in an over and complete hat-trick in his next over). The next hat-trick was also divided over two overs (the 12th and 14th over again!). This one included the wickets of Herschelle Gibbs, Andrew Symonds and Venugopal Rao.
