Mumbai collapsed from 104/2 to 153 all out. They lost two wickets in the super-over to score only 11 runs. On top of that, Bumrah started off with a no-ball and a wide! And yet Bumrah managed to get Mumbai home with what should go down as one of the greatest overs in IPL history! Terrific, terrific over by Bumrah, putting up a perfect display of death bowling to choke the likes of McCullum and Finch, two well-established hard-hitters!

Pretty good bowling performance from Mumbai Indians especially in the middle overs where they really broke the back of the Mumbai innings. Rohit Sharma was disappointed with his side conceding a bit too many runs in the death overs which allowed Gujarat Lions to get past the score of 150. MI bowlers succeeded when they took the pace off the ball and GL would certainly hope that they can make it hard for the visiting batsman. MI failed to chase a similar target in the last game and they will need big effort from their top order here. MI have the upper hand at the moment but not by much

Cramps tye for room in the second free-hit, allowing him only a single. FOUR! Faulkner reaches out for the slower ball outside off, and whacks it towards wide long-on. Full toss next ball, which Faulker guides towards sweeper cover for a couple of runs. Bumrah though has the last laugh in the over, with Tye and Faulkner getting dismissed in the last two balls of the over.

Bumrah back into the attack after a brilliant first over. Bit of a mix-up between Jadeja and Finch in the fourth ball of the over, with the former going for an uppercut towards backward point off a back-of-length delivery from Bumrah. Eight off the over. 

Meanwhile, replays show Bhajji’s lbw appeal to be a valid one, as it would have gone on to hit, and not clip, the leg-stump.

Bhajji into the attack for his final over, and gets the big wicket of Kishan first ball, with the youngster missing out on his maiden IPL fifty by just two runs. Faulkner walks out, and nearly gets run-out in the second delivery that he faces. Big shout for lbw in the last ball, though an unsuccessful one. Harbhajan finishes with fine figures of 1/23 from four overs.

Harbhajan gets a well deserved wicket. The Mumbai Indians bowlers played with the patience of the Ishan Kishan who chose the wrong shot at the wrong time. The veteran spinner has been bowling extremely well in this IPL and even in this game he has given little away. Bowled stump to stump offering very little pace, thus not allowing the batsmen to free their arms without taking any risks

Ishan Kishan playing a good hand so far but he’s being helped by Mumbai Indians who have bowled way too many short deliveries on a track that is offering little for the bowlers. All of Kishan’s runs have come off deliveries short of length and the MI bowlers need to rethink their strategy. Credit to the youngster for punishing almost all the bad balls so far

Suresh Raina’s average of 61.80 in this IPL is the third best among all the players who have scored atleast 250 runs in IPL 2017. He has scored 309 runs from eight innings at a strike rate of 141.74. He is also the highest run-scorer in IPL history. Moreover, he also holds the record of scoring most runs at Rajkot in IPL. 

Suresh Raina has been dismissed by Harbhajan Singh five times in IPL which is the most times any bowler has dismissed him in IPL. It will be intriguing to see when Harbhajan Singh will bowl today.

McClenaghan opens the bowling for Mumbai, with Kishan on strike, and starts off with a wide. FOUR! Kishan gets a bit of an edge to a bouncer from McClenaghan in the third ball. Two singles exchanged in the last two balls of the over, with Brendon McCullum getting off the mark in the first ball that he faces.

Brendon McCullum has hit 16 sixes in this IPL so far which is the joint second most by any player in this IPL.

Mumbai Indians going with the tried an tested line-up that has brought them success this season. Lasith Malinga has been MI’s go-to bowler for years now an once again they have turned to the Sri Lankan pacer to get them back to winning ways. Krunal Pandya is back in the side after Karn Sharma failed to make a telling impact. This appears to be MI’s strongest side and no surprise that Rohit Sharma has gone with this side for a crucial game in Rajkot
