Mumbai Indians’ newly appointed skipper Hardik Pandya has given a blunt response about social media talks. During a chat show with UK 07 Rider, the star all-rounder was asked about one of his photos in a supercar that had gone viral on the internet. The cricketer then revealed that it was not his car and had received the automobile from another person for a test drive. Pandya said, “Mai kabhi media mein comment karta nahi huun, toh maine kabhi kiya nahi, na mereko farak padta hai [I never comment in media, I have never done it, nor does it bother me.]”
In the same chat show, Pandya opened up on several facts that his fans did not know about him. Speaking on the same show, Pandya revealed that he did not like going out much. “One thing my fans don’t know about me is that I don’t go out. I am a homeboy. I have hardly been out in the last three to four years”, the cricketer said. Pandya also talked about how he only left his house under unavoidable circumstances.
Pandya added, “The only occasions I have stepped out is when it has been unavoidable, something happened with my friends. I like to stay at home. There was this time when I did not step out of home for 50 days. I did not even see the home lift”.
Hardik Pandya also mentioned that he had everything he needed at his home which is why he preferred to stay in. “I have my home gym, home theatre. The things that I like are in my home”. He later shared a funny anecdote when he previously used to think that the prize money from winning the ‘Player of the Match’ trophy goes to the player who wins it. “I thought a player who is awarded as man of the match receives all the money…but then I learnt that it gets divided among the team. After all, it is a team sport”, Pandya said.
Pandya sent the Indian cricket community into a state of frenzy after announcing his return to Mumbai Indians for this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL). Mumbai Indians later confirmed that Pandya will be the captain of the franchise. The star all-rounder returned to Mumbai after leading the Gujarat Titans to their first-ever IPL crown in 2022. He also guided the team to a second successive final against MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings last year but ended up losing the game in the dying stages.
