Fortune rides Super Storm to victory in Indian Derby

Jimmy Fortune rode Super Storm to a fine two-minute 31.83 second victory at the McDowell Signature Premier Indian Derby (Grade I), winning Rs 1.8 crore in the process.

The first-timer, trained by S Narredu, had earlier lost to Red Baron in the Kimmane Bangalore Derby on 26 January.

But there was no stopping him in the India’s premier horse-racing event.

Super Storm was unstoppable, winning the race by a length and a quarter and dashing any hopes Wind Stream had to win. The local horse came in second, winning Rs 57 lakhs.
