PM Narendra Modi became the subject of great Internet hilarity when he took his teleprompter - shall we say - a little too literally.

While greeting visiting Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena and his wife, Modi committed quite a gaffe, by calling the visiting first lady, M.R.S. Sirisena. Oh dear.

But the Prime Minister is not the only person to have suffered a moment of teleprompter fail. We take a look at some other incidents, where the teleprompter turned out to be more foe than friend.
