Karnataka BJP dubs Siddaramaiah 'pro-Jihadi': Saffron party brings in Hindutva ammo ahead of Assembly polls

Karnataka is a few weeks away from going to the polls and electing its 15th Assembly and the BJP state leadership appears locked and loaded for what is set to be an intensely communal campaign. On Tuesday, the Twitter handles of the party state unit and general secretary MLA CT Ravi sent out missives with the hashtag #JihadiMuktaKarnataka that stopped just short of calling Chief Minister Siddaramaiah a jihadi sympathiser.

The party handle tweeted:

K'taka was known for its economic prosperity. It is now breeding ground for jihadis. It was emerging as Asia’s silicon valley. It became a valley for jihadis to hide. It was known for its communal harmony. It is now communally most sensitive state. We need #JihadiMuktaKarnataka pic.twitter.com/vYrIBUv9Gk

Our karyakartas get constant phone calls from their families asking them about their safety. Hindus have understood that this govt will not protect them. Fear of annihilation grips every Hindu household in Karavali. Pro jihadi Siddu must go. We must create #JihadiMuktaKarnataka

Meanwhile, Chikkamagaluru MLA Ravi tweeted:

If Communal Chief Minister Siddaramaiah believes that he can build a "Taliban Empire" on the tombs of Hindu Karyakartas brutally murdered by Islamic Fundamentalists he is living in a Jihadi's Paradise.#JihadiMuktaKarnataka

Siddaramaiah whose regime witnessed the brutal murders of 24 Hindu Karyakartas by CONgress supported Jihadis is no less a Tyrant when compared to his role model Tippu Sultan.

Coastal Karnataka was renowned for its Educationists and Entrepreneurs who contributed immensely to the Nation.

Siddaramaiah and the ruling Congress have yet to respond to these tweets. For now though, the BJP appears to be dipping into its bag of Hindutva ammunition ahead of the polls and it remains to be seen if the #JihadiMuktaKarnataka motif is one that the party will adopt over the course of its campaign to regain power in the southern state.
