Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that India’s response to Pakistan’s “misadventures” will be “unprecedented” as he talked about the Iran war.
“Our neighbour, given the current situation, could attempt any misadventure. If that happens, India’s response will be unprecedented and decisive,” Singh said.
Recalling Operation Sindoor, launched last year in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, the minister said, “After the terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Indian forces brought Pakistan to its knees in just 22 minutes during ‘Operation Sindoor’. This was the largest operation ever carried out against terrorism in Indian military history.”
Singh added that the operation has “not been called off” yet, warning Pakistan that any wrongdoing will be met with force.
Talking more about the crisis in West Asia, Singh, “The conflict in West Asia is quite serious. Many people from Kerala live in West Asian countries. Our government is closely monitoring the situation and preparing itself to handle any eventuality.”
Last month, Singh chaired a high-level meeting to assess the country’s security and defence preparedness. The focus was on ensuring that India remains prepared for any spillover effects from the conflict, which has now entered a critical phase.
Among those present were Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, the chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force, along with senior officials from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Ministry of Defence.
The discussions centred on assessing the current security environment and strengthening readiness across domains, including land, air and maritime defence.
Officials reviewed India’s defence posture and preparedness measures in light of rapidly evolving geopolitical developments. The meeting also explored strategic responses to potential risks arising from the widening conflict in West Asia.
