Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi finally has a Twitter account, or at least his office does. [caption id=“attachment_2199496” align=“alignleft” width=“300”] Rahul Gandhi in a file photo. PTI[/caption] The account, now verified under the Twitter handle @OfficeOfRG, was created on Wednesday, but the first tweets only appeared on Thursday, which created confusion about whether the account was genuine or not among the then thirteen thousand followers (twenty five thousand now, and rising). Followers contemplated the silence from Gandhi and wondered what the future holds for his account:

Gandhi had stayed away from the social media in the past and his is absence was seen as one of the factors that went against him in the general elections at a time Narendra Modi was using various social media forums to add momentum to his campaign.
