Arrested septuagenarian Lashkar-e-Taiba bomb maker Syed Abdul Karim alias Tunda has allegedly named former Pakistan’s ISI chief Hamid Gul as his official handler in Pakistan.
Tunda allegedly told the Delhi Police that he met Gul, a known hardliner in 1995, CNN-IBN reported.
Delhi Police sources told CNN-IBN that Tunda was in regular contact with former ISI chief Gul.
However, the former ISI chief has denied either knowing the bomb maker or having ever interacted with him.
“There is no truth in what he is saying. I have never met Tunda in my life,” Gul told CNN-IBN.
The former ISI chief said he was ready to face any probe in connection with the allegations.
“If true, send the evidence to Pakistan. I am ready to face any investigation,” Gul said.
According to reports, Tunda was introduced to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim by the ISI.
The CNN-IBN report said that Tunda was asked to smuggle fake Indian currency by the ISI, which were given to him by two Pakistani Army majors – Major Altaf, Major Tayab and along with some brigadiers.
Tunda, who is under the custody of Delhi Police currently after his arrest on Saturday, will be produced in court on Tuesday at the end of his three-day police remand.
