It’s a landslide victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi assembly polls 2025.

The party managed to unseat the incumbent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from the Delhi throne, dealing a crushing blow by dominating on more than 45 seats in the 70-seat assembly.

As top AAP leaders ended up biting the dust at the hands of BJP candidates, here’s how other smaller parties have fared, especially those whose candidates received even fewer votes than NOTA (None of the Above).

Parties that were ‘defeated’ by NOTA

According to the latest data available on the Election Commission of India (ECI) website, NOTA received 0.56 per cent of total votes cast in Delhi assembly polls.

More than 50,000 people opted for the NOTA option, which was more than the total ballots cast in favour of some political parties.

For instance, the Communist Party Of India (Marxist) managed to get just 0.01 per cent support, which translates to around 10,000 votes.

Similarly, the Communist Party Of India (CPI) also received just 0.01 per cent votes.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) got support from just 0.03 per cent of Delhi voters.

Similarly, the RASLJP party managed to receive only 0.01 per cent of votes.

Some of the parties barely managed to defeat NOTA.

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party got 0.8 per cent votes, BSP got 0.57 per cent and JDU 0.59 per cent.

It must be noted that the NOTA option allows voters to reject all candidates running on the ballot.

If the NOTA option emerges victorious on a seat in any election, the candidate with the second-most number of votes is simply declared the winner.
